Slaggie Architects is excited to be leading the vision and associated architecture and engineering for the Merigold redevelopment project in Shawnee, Kansas AKA Shawnee Plaza. On Monday, March 27^th, the Shawnee City Council approved the public funding partnership with the Developer, Karra Brothers, LLC to redevelop an existing retail building into a 16,500sf entertainment-oriented destination retail environment located in the heart of downtown Shawnee.

At the intersection of 59^th and the recently improved and pedestrian-friendly Nieman Road, Shawnee Plaza will include a 6500sf signature restaurant with an outdoor dining terrace, one-of-a-kind retail shops, and a complete revamp of the existing Merigold Wine and Spirits store with carefully curated offerings in an interactive place of commerce.

A central, public urban courtyard may be shared by all tenants for public gatherings, receptions, tastings, and other events to enhance the overall customer experience.  The anticipated completion date will be summer of 2024.
